Akko - Nahariyya

It's Sunday morning as we write this, we couldn't post last night because of Internet problems. Saturday we had a relaxing day driving up the coast of Israel to Haifa, Akko and we're staying in Nahariyya. We met up with a dear Israeli friend who lives in the valley, Danny Ben-gigi, who happens to also be in Israel visiting his family. We're spending most of this weekend with Danny. We saw the fortress walls of Akko, the only place Napolean couldn't break through, several of his ships sank here in the Mediterranean as they were trying to get through. The sea was very choppy and full of waves due to high winds, but it was beautiful.

Danny and I at Akko.

This is the veiw looking north from the fortress, you see the city of Nahariya and off in the distance a mountain range, that is the northern border of Israel and Lebanon is just beyond the mountain. Notice in the water you can see earth when the tide goes out, this helped keep Napolean's ships at a distance while they were fired upon with cannons.

Here's a photo of us with Danny's precious mother, we're showing her family photos on the computer. She survived the holocaust when she was a teenager. Please pray for this dear, sweet lady.

We're spending Sunday with Danny again and hope to post about our day this evening, providing the Internet doesn't give us fits again. :) HAPPY LORD'S DAY!! Enjoy the services at Calvary! Miss you all very much!
